All American Pressure Canner Cooker Review

One of the biggest traditions that has been a part of our family for generations now is canning many of our own foods. What Is The All American Pressure Canner Made Of?

Each model of pressure cooker/canner is constructed of heavy hand crafted cast aluminum that has a satin finish to it. I love having an aluminum pressure cooker because it not only weighs much less, but also because it heats well... and heats evenly.

Getting A Steam Tight Seal

Perhaps my favorite feature of the  All American Pressure Cooker Canner is how it does not use a gasket in its sealing system. I used to constantly deal with having to replace gaskets with other types of pressure canners in the past, and this is like a breath of fresh air so to speak.

The All American pressure canner has a unique metal-to-metal system for getting a 'steam tight' seal that you simply can't find on other pressure canners. The sturdy clamping screws are easy to use and do a great job of securing the lid to the base, and since there is no gasket, you can open and close the cover, as well as vent of steam in the event of an unusual situation. All of this helps to make the pressure canner/cooker much more safe than ones that use gaskets.
 
It's All About The Pressure And The Gauges

Regardless of all the other features on any single pressure cooker canner, the single most important part is going to be how it deals with the pressure. To be honest, some do much better than others. Thankfully, the pressure gauge and system used by All American is truly second to none.

The pressure gauge that comes on all of the different models of All American canners is large enough to see without having to squint your eyes. I like to be able to quickly and easily the numbers. The gauge itself is a geared steam gauge for increased accuracy and durability.

You'll find three different pressure settings of 5 psi, 10 psi, and 15 psi. There's also two distinct automatic venting controls for even more safety; one is a safety control valve and the other is an overpressure plug.

The only thing I could come up with was that one or two people made mention that they were surprised the pressure cooker canner was heavier than they thought it would be. I find this happens in most cases with those who are new to using a pressure cooker/canner. Because they are so well built and literally designed to last for generations, they can be heavy. But... I would run from one that is lightweight because it simply will not last for any length of time.
