First of all, the S4212 is quiet. Considering how powerful this unit is and the fact that it's equipped with something called a "vortex motor", I thought I would be wearing ear plugs while vacuuming. Not so whatsoever. In fact, it is much quieter than the Hoover I was using.

For the first time in my life, I can actually talk on the phone while running the vacuum. Best of all, I'm not disturbing other members of the household who are busy watching TV or doing work on the computer. I can't understate just how quiet this machine is.

Next, I like the size and weight. The Polaris vacuum is super easy to move around, and fairly light. Moving it around is a breeze, and I can get around all of my furniture and even in previously hard to get nooks and crannies and other hiding places that used to be safe for dirt.

Finally, I really appreciate the high quality filter system. Other vacuums have a bad habit of kicking up dust and dirt. The Miele vacuum cleaner S4212 is sealed like a drum, and just sucks everything up without blowing it all around the air. I can breathe better, and don't even sneeze anymore after a good cleaning.

This is an especially critical point for me because I own two dogs and a cat. I have to vacuum quite often. If you own pets and have a lot of hardwood surfaces, this vacuum is absolutely perfect for you, as it is for me.

It's hard to find any real cons against this vacuum, but my only real complaint would be the length of the cord. I have one area in our house where it is somewhat difficult to reach while cleaning. This really isn't an issue with the machine as much it is just my pickiness so to speak. For most people it will only depend on the layout of the home and location of AC outlets.
